On its way home

I know one little girl who is in major trouble with the husband, and that little girl happens to be me.

Why am I in trouble, you might ask?

Well, it might be because I couldn't resist the urge to buy one of these handsome rugs from a Joss & Main sale a few days ago...just sayin.

Can you guess which one it is?

If you guessed the navy blue chevron rug on the left, then you are absolutely right!

I fell in love with this handsome fella, so perhaps that's why Mark is feeling a little territorial...or perhaps it's because he think it looks like a zebra print, while I think it looks like a fun, zig-zaggy, chevron print.

Tomato, tomato, potato, potato...

I love chevron, but I'll be honest...there is a tiny part of me that wonders how long the chevron print trend is going to last.

But that's what made me like this rug so much.  I liked that it had the general chevron print, but I also liked that the stripes were different widths.  It almost looked to me like someone painted the stripes by hand, giving the pattern that look of imperfection.  In other words, I loved that this rug had a unique spin on the chevron fad.  In a way, it felt like the best of both worlds.

The price of the rug was also pretty reasonable.  I'm not saying it was a drop in the bucket, but for a 9x12 foot rug $427.00 was a pretty good deal.  Even rugs of this size that I've seen at Home Goods and Ikea typically run between $500-$800...so when I saw that shipping was only $9.95, that sealed the deal for me.

I also know a little girl who is antsy like it's Christmas.  That little girl is also me!

I've never been one who can patiently wait while my brand new rug is delivered to it's new home.  It's estimated to be here soon, but that still doesn't give me any comfort.

The plan is to put this rug in the living room.  I think it will look great, especially since I plan to use yellow accents within that space.  I'm really hoping that Mark will love it too once he sees everything pulled together.

I'll be sure to keep you all posted once it arrives.  Wish me luck!

Super cute! I like the variation in the chevron print too.
With your affectionate tone, you sound like you're on the verge of naming her...
Could she be a Sally? Fun, but still a classic.
I don't think she's an Ethel, too old fashioned.
What about Veronica? You could shorten it and call her Ronnie.

I don't know why I'm so interested naming your future home accessories today. Perhaps I'm smitten with her too. :)
