Style Mooching: Elle Decor's Modern Life Concept House

Let's Style Mooch this bedroom from Elle Decor's Modern Life Concept House, shall we?

What is Style Mooching?

It's where we take inspirational spaces to a whole new level!  The process is simple...I find an inspiring room and show you where to find nearly identical items for what you see in the photo...that way, you can recreate the same look in your own home.  In other words, we'll be mooching some fabulous style from the most sought after designers out there.

Posh or quaint, modern or traditional, nothing is off limits for a good ol' Style Mooch!

I can't always guarantee to find the best deal, or even to find an exact match for a product...but, each board will give you a general direction to take your shopping list to bring your own space to life.

To recreate this lively bedroom, try this shopping list on for size:

First, let's give credit where credit is due!  This Style Mooch is based off of the Modern Life Concept House from Elle Decor.  I fell in love with the playful color combinations used in this bedroom.  I also loved the fabrics that were used to create an inviting space.

Try as I may, I could not find an exact replica of the table lamp used in this space.  Well...at least not one that cost less than $800.00.  But, being the thrifty person that I am, I was able to find a lamp with a similar feel that won't completely break the bank.  Try the Robert Abbey Glass Base table lamp from Lamps Plus.

Combine black and white fabrics (like here and here) with maroon fabric trim (here) to create the artwork behind the bed and the roman shade window treatment.

Pair a decorative pillow with a bold print with this swivel chair from Wayfair.com.  Place a modern, circular side table near the chair to create a cozy sitting area.  Look for a side table that combines glass and chrome to mimic the table in the photo.

This tufted headboard from West Elm creates a comfortable place to kick back and relax.  Pair it with a dark-wood bed frame, or use a dark bed skirt as a cheaper alternative.

If your space has large windows, these sheer curtain panels from Ikea will admit light while providing privacy.

For an exotic touch, add this animal-friendly faux-fur pillow to your bedding.  Pair it with a mis-matched pillow in a neutral color, that features a simple print.  Since your throw pillows won't match as far as pattern is concerned, be sure to match the size to create unity between the two pieces.

Within this playful color scheme, keep your bed linens neutral.  The cotton-blend duvet cover from West Elm will provide a neutral backdrop to the bold prints you'll introduce in other areas of the room.

Add a pop of color on the bed with a throw-blanket with a fun print.  To add additional interest, use a handmade blanket with a lot of character and charm.  This shop from Etsy is a great place to find unique quilts, like this queen bed cover.

Use crisp, white linens as sheets and pillow shams to create slight contrast against the neutral duvet cover.  This linen set from Target is the perfect fit!
