A Simple Tulip Centerpiece

It's no secret that I'm a huge tulip fanatic.  In fact, I'd feel comfortable admitting that it's my favorite flower -- which may have become evident through a few posts from the past (see here and here).  So when I found some decent-looking silk tulips at a 50% off clearance at Michaels, you can only imagine the joy I felt!

Earlier this year I purchased a honeycomb pitcher vase, which I temporarily filled with some of the silk flowers that were actually betrothed to my friend's bridal bouquet project.  So when it came time to finally put the bouquets together, I was left with a lonely vase that was begging for a new arrangement.

Luckily, my discounted tulip buds and honeycomb vase were a perfect pair in this simple centerpiece...

All it took was a little bit of trimming to get the stems the the right height and I was basically done with this easy project!  Right now, I'm enjoying the centerpiece on the table in the breakfast nook, but I think eventually the arrangement will wind up in the guest bedroom.

Later this week I'll be sharing another tulip arrangement I've put together.  I tried a little experiment on it to see if I could get the silk flowers to look a bit more realistic, so I figured I'd dedicate an entire post to the explanation of my wild-hair idea.

What centerpiece is hanging out on your dining room table right now?  Is it something fall related, or a simple vase of flowers?  What plans do you have for your table setting for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday?  I'll be sharing a few ideas with you in the upcoming days, so be sure to check back in!

Hey Carrie!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you found us!

I bought the honeycomb vase on One Kings Lane, and unfortunately, I haven't seen it there since. However, I do know that West Elm sells some honeycomb vases that are pretty fun. Or, there are some pretty cool pitcher vases here: http://www.thefind.com/kitchen/info-Pitcher-Vase#page=1&local=0

Hope that helps!
