Movie and a Makeover, Minus the Movie

You might have noticed things are looking a bit different around here.

That's because I'm in the middle of a major site makeover.  The general theme and layout will stay the same, but I decided the three-column layout was making things a bit too cluttered for my taste.

So, while I'm resizing images, adjusting navigation bars, and reformatting content, I thought I would distract entertain you with some of the other makeover projects from the site.  Sorry, I don't really have a movie to include, so the makeovers will just have to do for now (side thought...does anybody even watch the show Movie and a Makeover??).

LAMP REDO--BEFORE

LAMP REDO--MADEOVER

I learned a lot on this makeover project, particularly the importance of waiting for paint to fully dry!  But, in the end it all turned out, and now I have some lovely lamps for the guest bedroom.

SUNDAE DISH REDO--BEFORE

I found these dishes in the $1.00 isle at Target one day, and thought they would make cute vases.  With leftover paint from my lamp project, I made them into mini-topiaries to use as accents in the guest bedroom.

FOOD JARS REDO--BEFORE

By using some glue and some food coloring, I was able to turn these food jars into decorative vases/candles.  The project only cost me $.50!

TREE REDO--BEFORE

We inherited a dead tree when we moved into our house, and it took us a little while to replace it.  In fact, it took a little nudge from our homeowner's association to push us in the right direction.  We still have a long way to go with the landscaping, but at least it's a start!

LOGO REDO--BEFORE

I toyed with a lot of logo design ideas before finally narrowing in on this one, but I think I finally got it right!

FABRIC SCRAP REDO--BEFORE

Never under-estimate the potential of odds-and-ends scraps!  I was able to make a table runner out of some leftover fabric with just a few stitches.

MIRROR REDO--BEFORE

This project reminded me to not overlook items just because they aren't the right color.  These mirrors were $10 at Big Lots, but the green wasn't the right shade.  Nothing a few coats of spray paint can't handle!

CHANDELIER REDO--BEFORE

This baby is my little gem because I learned to never underestimate the power of creativity!  Working through the challenges of this project was captivating, and enjoying the finished product has been wonderful!  I can't wait to host my first dinner party!

Well, I think that I've had a few encouraging makeovers thus far.  Now, I just hope to be successful with the site makeover.  As always, your feedback is welcome!  Please let me know if there is anything you would like to see on this blog, or if anything could be working better.
