New Toys from Savers

Have I ever mentioned that I love weekends?  If I haven't, consider it mentioned now.  I looooovvvveeee weekends!

Today I made a trip down to Savers to see if I could find any loot to bring home.  This was my first time ever going to Savers, and I actually found that I had to put things back because I was putting too many items into my shopping cart!

I did wind up taking a few things home though.  Take a look at my new toys:

I know what you're thinking.  They're not really much to look at right now, but trust me, I have plans for these little guys!  Total I spent $33.00 for everything you see here, but let me break it down.

First is this duvet for a queen-size bed that was only $4.99.  There actually wasn't a price listed on it, but the guy at the register gave me the "family discount" (apparently I have a new cousin now) so I lucked out.  Thanks register guy!

I plan to use this fabric to reupholster the dining room chairs, and possibly even make some window treatments for the dining room too.  Originally, I planned to use a white fabric, but I'm very curious to see how this silvery fabric will look.  The nice thing is that if it doesn't work out, I'm only out 5 bucks!

Next are these picture frames that were $.69!  I plan to paint them white or black, depending on the color of frames I use for the collage I'm going to put in my studio.  I'm currently thinking black, but it seems like I change my mind about it every other day.

These little plaques were $2.99 for the set of three.  I plan to paint these as well, and also change out the pictures (though those cityscapes are beautiful...haha...not really).  They will most likely be added to the collage in the studio as well.

Last, but not least, these lovely lamps (well, not that lovely) were $4.99 each.  I think these are going to turn out to be the "ugly duckling" story from the group.  I have big plans for these ones, as well as the yellow lamp (that one was $9.99).  The yellow lamp I'm thinking of using for the studio, and these I'm hoping to use in the guest bedroom.  I want to paint them in that bright green that I will be using as my accent color in the guest bedroom (click here to see my inspiration for this room).

So what do you think?  Do you think I can somehow turn trash into treasure?  I think I can...but you'll have to wait and see!

Thanks Sandi!

I love that store! It's very rare that I don't walk out of there with some goodies!
