Gearing Up

Well folks,

I'm getting all geared up.  But unfortunately, it's not for the holidays like I should be.  I've been a little distracted...so while I should be putting up the Christmas tree (yep, I haven't even done that yet), hanging the lights, and wrapping the presents, I've been working on this...

Ugh!  I'm such a design-a-holic that I can't even put it on hold for one month to sprinkle my home with some Christmas cheer!

But I just can't help it!  I've been saving my pennies so that I can finally start putting my studio together and finally have a designated place to work on all of my crafty projects...oh, and I might type up a blog post, or two as well.  Can you see why I'm so excited?

It's been a long time since I posted my inspiration board for the space, so I wanted to put together a rendering so I could get a feel for how the furniture would fit in the room.  Take a look at the inspiration board to see how they compare:

This room is completely different from what you'll see me working toward for the rest of my home (here are the links to my plans for the master bedroom, guest room, and living/dining combo), but I chose this scheme because I wanted a room with a lot of playful energy.  These colors make me happy, and being creative makes me happy too, so I'm counting on having a lot of happy experiences in my studio for as long as I can.

But, one thing that doesn't make me happy is the fact that it's half-way through December and the only Christmas related posts I've typed up have been for my doodle ornaments and for my $12 centerpieces. It's my favorite time of the year, but no one would know it because I've been so caught up in other things.

Well, the good news is tomorrow I'm going shopping, and this weekend I'll be making some crafty Christmas gifts for my family.  But for now, I thought I'd at least give a shout out to Kate over at the Centsational Girl blog for putting together this gorgeous tree!

She is amazing, so be sure to check out her holiday decor!

If all goes according to plan this weekend, I should have a bit of holiday decor of my own to share with you all.  Here's hoping!

Is anyone else already planning projects for after the holidays?  What big plans does everyone have for 2012?  I still can't believe that 2011 is coming to an end, but you know what they say about how time flies!

How funny, I've also been so busy working on my new blog and home projects that I haven't put up my xmas tree either.
That is one serious craft room. Looks like it's going to turn out great. I also love the graphics in your header, very cute.
