A Cheery Thanksgiving

I just filled my tummy with tons of tasty food, and I hope you all were able to do the same thing!  It was a great day filled with family and food...and the cheery festivities took place at a tulip-filled tablescape.

Check out the bright & colorful way my family celebrated Thanksgiving...

If you remember, my inspiration board for my table looked a something like this...

Originally in my mind, I pictured more grey in the color scheme.  I loved the leaf runner that I found on Target.com, but sadly, when I went to the actual store they didn't have it in stock.  I even check another Target, and they didn't have it either.

Though I was bummed at first, I stumbled upon the yellow napkins that made me equally happy.  In fact, the napkins I found made me excited about creating a bright-and-colorful table that was fun and playful. What better way to celebrate the holiday of giving thanks than to be surrounded by colors that make you feel happy, right?

Okay, maybe I'm way to excited about the yellow, but seriously, look at these pictures...I'm sorry, they just make me happy!

Yeah, if you think I'm done with the photos you're mistaken...I snapped photo after photo to share with you guys!

Believe it or not, this setup wasn't just there for good looks...it also had a practical purpose too...meaning, feeding our faces!

That's right, my family gathered today to celebrate a spirit of gratitude, and we intended to eat-and-eat as a sign of our appreciation for the holiday.

...and eat, we did!

Holy cow!  Look at that spread!

And to think, I was worried about how everything would come together.  But, I have my wonderful family to thank for all of the delicious food that was served.  My mom brought everything, and my family was busy all morning putting the finishing touches on the meal, while I was putting the finishing touches on the table set-up.

Everything was served up buffet style to save room on the table.  Not only that, we all could return to the food table whenever we wanted to reload our plates.

...and speaking of plates...here's how mine stacked up...

I'm a pig, I know...but I believe this is the one day when nobody should be ashamed for putting their diet out of their mind and just enjoying a hearty feast!  What do you think?

Well, I hope each of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!  I hope you know that I appreciate you!  I'm always grateful for the kind comments I receive and the encouraging words...in fact, this week I have to send a big shout out to reader, Maureen, for leaving me a comment with step-by-step instructions for the Thanksgiving meal.  Even though I lucked out since my family handled the cooking, it made my day to know that someone was that kind, and offered a helping hand!

I am grateful for so many things!  My incredible husband, my loving family, my remarkable friends and coworkers, the opportunities I have encountered, and also for being able to share pieces of my life, record my adventures, and build a friendship with each of you even if I never have the opportunity to meet you personally.  Thank you again, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so glad everything worked out for you. I love the table - I never would have thought of tulips - and I want to know what kind of bottles are those?

Thanks Maureen!

Funny you should ask about the bottles...I'm a little embarrassed about them because of the lengths I went through to get them. I'll be posting more about the table set up on Monday or Tuesday and I'll share my little secret about the bottles with everyone. Trust me, it's pathetic what I'm willing to do for creativity's sake!
